Course:  Flowers in the Desert
Time: Sundays from 9:25-10:25 am beginning November 14
Location: Eternal Love Lutheran Church
Instructor: Pastor Dave Pries
Format: Discussion

A desert seems dead, dusty, and, let’s face it, downright boring. There doesn’t seem to be much there. Sometimes we can see the Old Testament prophets and their books that way. Maybe it’s because we aren’t seeing their life, beauty, and vibrancy in the midst of their gloom-and-doom messages. The upcoming Bible study called Flowers in the Desert will open our eyes of faith to see God’s gorgeous plans for us revealed through the Old Testament prophets. During our time together, we’ll not only grow through seeing the beautiful gospel flowers in the prophets’ desert-like judgment-filled landscape, but we’ll also engage in helpful activities like constructing a spiritual survival kit, putting together a plan to serve those who live after we are in heaven, and getting ourselves ready to help others struggling with end-of-world issues. Take a walk with us in the desert and enjoy all the beauty it offers for your life. Our study starts on Sunday, November 14, at 9:25 am.  There is a “Flowers in the Desert” book by Robert Koester that is needed for the study.  We have already purchased books and they are available for purchase for $13 per book.

Course:  Faith that Sees through the Culture
Time:  Sundays from 9:25- 10:25 am
Location: Eternal Love Lutheran Church
Instructor: Troy Swenson

Description:  Join us as we journey to discover how our faith can see through culture. Our own suffering and anxiety over the human condition must never keep us from seeing that God Himself triumphs in us through such things, all hidden under opposites. This is the “seeing through” of which our study will take us.
